IV & Infusion Therapy for Phlebotomists

Program Description

IV Therapy for Phlebotomists & Medical Clinics is an 8-hour, in-person course designed to provide clinicians with the fundamental knowledge and hands-on experience necessary for initiating short-term IV infusion therapy. This course is specifically tailored for healthcare professionals whose scope of practice includes IV therapy, ensuring they develop both the technical skills and confidence required for safe and effective patient care.

With a focus on practical application, this course covers the essential steps involved in IV therapy, from patient preparation to post-infusion monitoring. Participants will gain experience in inserting peripheral vascular access devices (IV catheters), preparing and administering IV fluids, and ensuring patient safety throughout the infusion process. The course also emphasizes recognizing and managing potential complications within the clinician’s delegated scope of practice.
