Disclaimer

Using the Canadian Health Care Education Network’s (CHEN) materials is not a substitute for Health  Professional formal training (degree-granting) and licensing. Learners who are seeking Medical or Health  Professional advice or formal training toward a professional license are directed to consult a Health  Professional or for training, a Healthcare Professional school. 

Concerning all information provided or shared by CHEN’s in all its channels, CHEN makes no warranties  of any kind, express or implied (including warranties of fitness for a particular purpose) and shall not be  liable for any loss arising out of the use of this information, including without limitation any indirect or  consequential damages.

Program Information 

Program participants will be notified by email before class with information on login information, program  material etc. 

Non-attendance 

It is you/the learner's responsibility to ensure that you/they can attend each program date and time.  Missing a program date/time will result in not receiving the Certificate of Completion. CHEN is not  obligated to provide any make-up sessions, transfers, or refunds.

Non-Degree and Non-Credit CHEN Programs 

All programs are offered through CHEN are as non-degree and non-credit and cannot be used towards a  degree at any university or college. Each participant who attends all program dates and completes and  passes all assignments and assessments, as they might be assigned during the program, will receive a  certificate of completion. 

Please note all programs have been designed according to Canadian standards. The Canadian Health  Care Education Network does not warrant compliance with any other standards. International  professionals are advised to confirm with your national/local boards, ministries, organizations, or any  authorized institution if CHEN's programs content complies with your countries' practices and standards.

Programs at the Canadian Health Care Education Network (CHEN) are offered in English. Therefore, it is  also the international professionals’ responsibility to ensure that they meet the language requirements.  They may be asked to demonstrate language proficiency.

Changes to Programs 

The Canadian Health Care Education Network reserves the right to make alterations to the advertised  program information including, but not limited to the program fee (incl. other fees e.g. transfer &  cancellation fees, etc), dates, locations, speakers, and content. 

​

We will make every effort to present the program as advertised but it may be necessary to change the  dates, locations, speakers, or content with little or no notice. 

​

Fees, dates, locations, speakers, and content are subject to change. 

​

What the Program Fee Covers 

Unless otherwise stated, the program fee includes instruction and program materials only. CHEN program  fees do not include, and CHEN is NOT responsible for, travel/transportation costs, accommodation costs,  food costs, parking costs, long-distance charges, computer access, internet service provider charges, and  other charges associated with attending our programs. 

 

Regarding Supplemental resources for programs that have a practical component - Wound Care  Certificate Level 1 only: CHEN makes every attempt to ensure that your course supply packages for any  practical components arrive before your program starts. CHEN-RCES is not liable for package delivery delays caused by Canada Post or any designated carriers. These packages are sent out well in advance of  the program start date based on Canada Post's or designated carrier’s estimated delivery times. Your package may be late due to circumstances at the designated carrier/Canada Post that are beyond our control.

Registration 

All registration forms must be completed and submitted with complete course payment before they will be  accepted by CHEN.  

​

• CHEN does not accept personal cheques or cash. Payment by credit card or e-transfer only. • Group payment by organizations can be arranged through the organization’s finance department  by contacting info@chenetwork.ca.  

• Non-Canadian dollar-denominated credit card fee payments will be subject to foreign exchange  rates and fees as determined by the credit card company. 

• CHEN does offer payment installments/Payment plans for select courses. Please contact  info@chenetwork.ca for information/eligibility.

Registration fees are subject to change without prior notice. 

​

Registration Deadline for Programs 

For Wound Care Level 1 

Registration form and full program fee must be received by CHEN 4:30 pm ET, TWO (2)weeks before the  start date of the program. 

 

For all other CHEN’s programs ( excluding Wound Level 1)  

• Registration form and full program fee must be received by CHEN no later than 4:30 pm ET, ONE  (1) week before the start date of the program.

In order to start a program or course, full payment must be received

​​

Please note: 

• CHEN recommends its students, alumni and community to register as soon as possible for any of  its courses as the number of students/course is limited.  

• All registrations are processed on a first-come-first-served basis. 

• Students will receive an email notification and invoice confirming student "program seat" has  been confirmed 

Earning the Certificate of Completion  

Certificates of completion are issued approximately two to three weeks after the end of the program, as  long as you have : 

• Attended and participated in all sessions 

• Completed and passed all assignments and assessments, as they may be assigned during the  program 

Certificates of Completion 

• Identifies successful completion of CHEN’s programs. 

• Are offered with all CHEN's programs. 

• Are pdf documents indicating successful completion of all program mandatory requirements. • Certificates of completion are sent to the successful students by email two to three weeks after  program end date.

Student Conduct Policy 

Students are expected to maintain a professional relationship characterized by courtesy and mutual  respect. This includes 

• The responsibility to behave in a way that does not harm or threaten to harm another person’s  physical or mental well-being. 

• The responsibility to uphold an atmosphere of civility, honesty, equity and respect for others,  thereby valuing the inherent diversity in our community. 

• The responsibility to consider and respect the perspectives and ideas of others, even when the  student does not agree with their perspectives or ideas. 

 

Our programs may feature peer-group discussions and feedback, and in some cases, simulation practice.  This code is strictly applied at all times. If you have a concern during the program please direct to the  instructor or email us at info@chenetwork.ca and the issue will be investigated. CHEN reserves the  right to remove any student who violates our conduct policy.

No recording, video or photo taking is allowed at any time in the classroom or online session, including  breaks and lunch due to privacy and intellectual property rights.  

​

 

Substitutions/Transferring a Registration to a Colleague 

The following policy on Transfer/Cancellation/Refund is in effect, for CHEN’s programs: Transferring Registration to a Colleague 

 

All written notice/emails must be submitted to info@chenetwork.ca Written or verbal notice received by  instructors is not valid toward a transfer/cancellation/refund. 

 

Please note before you submit your request, make sure you read the information below. Transfer/Cancellation form: 

• Transfer requests: 

o Important Note: The term "Transfer" in this section refers to a transfer of a program  registration to another session at a later date. 

o All transfer requests for any of the CHEN offerings must be submitted by email to  info@chentwork.ca 

o Requests to transfer after the program has started are not permitted. 

o Transfer fees may apply, refer to the table below 

o Transferring a registration to a colleague is free and permitted if written notice/email  listing the name, organization, and contact information of both the "original registrant" and  the colleague who will be attending in place of the original registrant is received and  submitted by email more than 2 business days in advance of the program start date.  

o Please note for the Wound Care Certificate Level 1 only: once CHEN sends the  supply packages for the practical components of these program(s), the  organization or original registrant will be responsible for the "new registrant"  receiving the supply package that was mailed to the "original registrant". CHEN  will not be able to send or substitute supply packages. 

• Cancellation requests: 

o All cancellations and refund requests for any of the Canadian Healthcare Education  Network (CHEN) offerings must be submitted by email to info@chenetwork.ca 

o Requests to cancel after the program has started are not permitted. 

o Group cancellation/refund requests: All of our programs will be subject to the above  policy with the understanding that the applicable transfer or cancellation charge will be  multiplied by the number of registrants in the group. Non-attendance will incur the full  registration fee. 

o Cancellation fees apply, refer to the table below 

o Please note cancellation requests could take a minimum of 2 to 3 weeks to be  processed. Do not send the instructor notifications of cancellation and refund requests  as they will not be accepted by the Canadian Healthcare Education Network as a formal  request.

Transfers/Cancellations/Refunds of Your Registration 

• ALL Programs

Transfer Fee: For Wound Care Level 1 =  CAD $80 plus 13% HST pp. For all other programs (excluding  Wound Care Level 1): CAD $40  plus 13% HST pp

Voluntary Cancellation Fee: For Wound Care Level 1 =  CAD $125 plus 13% HST pp. For all other programs (excluding  Wound Care Level 1): CAD $75  plus 13% HST pp. Transfers will be scheduled for the  next program date at the same  location.

 

Less than 20 business days in  advance of the program start  date.

Transfer Fee: For Wound Care Level 1 =  CAD $125 plus 13% HST pp For all other programs (excluding  Wound Care Level 1): CAD $75  plus 13% HST pp

Voluntary Cancellation Fee: All fees paid are non-refundable

Non-attendance will incur full program cost. Requests to make up missed classes are not permitted  under any circumstances. To make up a class in a future session, a fee will apply. Contact info@chenetwork.ca


Program Cancellations by CHEN-RCES

Regarding open enrolment programs only 

​

The Canadian Healthcare Education Network (CHEN) reserves the right to cancel any program.  Programs will not run if they do not have the minimum number of registrants required. 

​

In the event of a program cancellation, CHEN’s liability is limited to the reimbursement of paid tuition fees  and HST collected only. Any monies not recovered by an individual in connection to accommodation or  travel, long-distance charges, or other expenses, are not the responsibility of CHEN and will not be reimbursed by CHEN. 

​

Each registrant will be notified by email prior to the advertised start date of the program and the  registration fee will be refunded in full.  

​

CHEN is not responsible for any additional costs, including, but not limited to, non-refundable airline or  hotel penalties
